Type B commonly permits only the university connected to that agency number in the submitted CSC form.

Universities may also participate in named routes such as the High-Level Postgraduate Program, Silk Road Program, or other bilateral and special projects. These can restrict nationality, academic level, major, or teaching language. A general CSC eligibility page cannot prove that a particular applicant can use a particular named route.

Many Type B calls require two submissions: one in the CSC information system and one in the university's international-student portal. Completing only one is a frequent reason an otherwise eligible application is never reviewed. Follow the host's sequence, category, agency number, and file checklist exactly.

Airfare is not a universal benefit of every CSC award. Some bilateral or special programmes may include travel, but standard university Type B guides commonly list tuition, accommodation, stipend, and insurance without international flights. Applicants should not describe airfare as covered unless the exact call states it.

Accommodation can mean a university dormitory or, under some programmes, an approved subsidy when campus housing is unavailable. Room type, utilities, deposits, bedding, holiday arrangements, and off-campus permission differ. Obtain the host's written housing rules instead of assuming the scholarship pays any private apartment chosen by the student.

The CNY 3,000 stipend supports basic personal living costs and should not be treated as research funding or guaranteed savings. Scholarship continuation normally depends on registration, academic progress, annual review, conduct, and compliance with university and immigration rules. The common education and age standard is a Bachelor's degree and an age below 35. The exact date used to calculate age can differ by call, and academically excellent results are normally expected. Meeting the age and diploma minimum does not guarantee admission or a CSC nomination.

Applicants need a Bachelor's degree in a suitable field or an accepted equivalent. Universities can require particular prerequisite courses, grades, research experience, publications, professional preparation, or an entrance assessment in addition to the general CSC standard.

Applicants normally cannot hold another Chinese government scholarship at the same time. Current students in China, previous scholarship recipients, and candidates applying for another degree at the same level may face route-specific restrictions. For Master's study, determine whether the programme is academic, professional, thesis-based, or course-based. Review methods training, supervisor arrangements, practical projects, and whether the degree supports your intended career or later doctoral study.

A Masters application commonly requires a study plan or research proposal. Follow the university's word count, language, and structure. Explain the academic problem or professional need, previous preparation, objectives, methods or learning plan, host fit, schedule, and expected contribution.

A Master's plan need not pretend to be a finished doctoral proposal. It should show a focused interest, understanding of the programme, readiness for advanced study, and a credible connection between the degree and future work. For thesis programmes, identify a feasible topic area and methods you want to develop.

Use accurate citations and write original work. Fabricated references, copied proposals, ghostwriting, or material the applicant cannot defend can lead to rejection and academic-integrity consequences. Reviewer feedback can improve clarity, but ownership and factual verification remain with the applicant.

Connect the programme to a realistic career plan. Explain which capabilities you lack, how the selected curriculum develops them, and how you expect to apply them after graduation.

A pre-admission document can strengthen or be required for some routes, especially postgraduate applications, but its role differs. Under a bilateral Type A programme it may receive priority without guaranteeing the scholarship. Under a university route, the host may conduct its own pre-admission review before nominating candidates to CSC.

Contact a prospective supervisor only when the programme encourages or requires it. Send a concise, tailored message with your background, research interest, CV, and any proposal requested. Demonstrate genuine alignment with the person's recent work; mass emails and false claims of agreement damage credibility.

A professor's informal reply is not a scholarship award, university admission, or CSC decision. Confirm what document the host accepts, who is authorised to issue it, and whether a signature alone is sufficient. Do not pay an intermediary for a fabricated acceptance letter.

Requirements differ across routes. Type A applicants must follow their dispatching authority's checklist, while Type B applicants must follow both CSC and university instructions. A document accepted by one university may be rejected by another because certification, translation, format, or validity rules differ.

Expected graduates generally upload an official pre-graduation certificate and later provide the final diploma before registration. Admission and funding can be cancelled if the qualification is not completed. Names, dates, degree titles, and passport numbers must remain consistent across all systems.

The physical examination form is often valid for a limited period and can be rejected when the photo is unsealed, physician signature or hospital stamp is missing, required tests are incomplete, or the form is too old. Follow the current host instructions before paying for an examination.

The non-criminal record normally must be issued by the competent authority and fall within the stated validity period. Applicants should allow time for legalisation or certified translation if required. Never edit official documents or omit prior enrolment and funding information.

In a university route, the institution reviews applications and nominates selected candidates to CSC. CSC or the responsible authorities then conduct final review and approval. A university recommendation, portal status, or supervisor acceptance does not equal final scholarship confirmation.

In a bilateral route, the dispatching authority screens or nominates candidates according to national procedures before the Chinese side completes placement and approval. Interviews, written tests, document verification, or a pre-admission request may occur locally.

Selection considers academic strength, programme fit, language, study or research quality, recommendations, host capacity, and route priorities. Country quotas and available scholarship places mean that meeting published minimums is never a guarantee.

Trust results only through the responsible authority, university, CSC system, or formal admission materials. Scholarship scams often use unofficial email accounts, payment demands, or fake award letters. Verify unexpected communications with the contact details published on the university's official domain.

Successful candidates use the official admission notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China, such as the applicable JW form, to apply for the correct study visa through the responsible Chinese mission or visa centre. The scholarship does not remove the student's duty to meet immigration requirements.

Check whether the host provides electronic or paper admission documents and wait for instructions before booking travel. Name or passport changes after application can delay visa materials. Report any change immediately through the official channel.

Prepare funds for costs not paid before arrival, including flights when not covered, visa services, document legalisation, dormitory deposits, residence permit procedures, medical re-examination, bedding, meals, phone service, and transport. Ask when the first stipend is paid.

After arrival, complete university registration, accommodation, insurance, medical verification, and residence permit steps on time. Bring original diplomas, transcripts, examination records, physical form, criminal record, and other documents requested for verification. False or unverifiable material can cancel admission and scholarship status.
