The academic Statement of Grant Purpose is limited to 6,000 characters, and the project summary is limited to 1,750 characters.

For independent research, many applicants need an affiliation letter from a university professor, laboratory, research institute, nonprofit organization, archive, museum, or another appropriate host. The letter helps prove that the project can actually happen in the selected country.
